It’s hard to imagine with a climate so dry that you can find a 50 foot waterfall pouring out of the side of the mountain. But you can and it’s absolutely glorious. If you have a nice mountain bike with a little suspension, there are plenty of trails that you can also mountain bike here. There are definitely some steep climbs but the downhills are worth it. Just watch out for the hikers and the equestrians when you’re ripping through the turns! Wildwood Park is just one are of Thousand Oaks boasts as an outdoor playground. On the other side of the 101, the Santa Monica Mountains offer a much more expansive recreational area with hundreds of miles of trails for everything you could imagine. You will often see mountain bikes loaded up on the back of trucks heading up towards Space Mountain for a tough climb and unbelievable decent.
