How pay works
You earn a share of the price of every job you clean. For example, on a $200 cleaning, you’d earn $120. Most cleaners earn about $25–$40 an hour, depending on the size of the job and how quickly they work.
You’re paid by direct deposit every Tuesday for the previous week’s jobs, and we collect payment from the client, so you never have to.
What you need
- Legally able to work in the U.S.
- SSN or ITIN for tax reporting and a background check
- Your own car, driven only by you
- Your own cleaning supplies and equipment: vacuum, mop, bucket, products and cloths
- House cleaning experience and a positive, reliable attitude

How much can I earn?
You earn a share of the price of every job. For example, on a $200 cleaning you’d earn $120. Most cleaners earn about $25–$40 an hour, depending on the job.
How and when do I get paid?
By direct deposit every Tuesday for the previous week’s jobs. We don’t pay in cash, check, Venmo or Zelle.
Will I be an employee?
No. You work as an independent contractor. Marching Maids is a referral agency that connects you with clients and handles booking and payment.
Do you provide training or supplies?
No. You bring your own equipment and products, and you decide how you clean.
Where are the jobs?
Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire and Riverside, the Coachella Valley, San Diego County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County and the Denver metro.
How will I know when jobs are available?
Job invitations are sent through our app (iPhone and Android) based on your availability and area. Availability doesn’t guarantee jobs.
I accepted a job but wasn't assigned. Why?
Invitations go to all cleaners nearby, but only one cleaner or team is chosen for each job. Keep your availability up to date and you’ll see more invitations.
Can I say no to a job?
Yes. You can decline any job with no penalty.
Can I work with a helper or a team?
Yes. Jobs are assigned to you, and you can bring a helper. Larger jobs may go to teams.
Do I need to apply in person?
No. Everything is done remotely, by phone, text and online.
